About Rise and Shine
“Where the Leaders of Tomorrow are Shinning Today”
Rise and Shine Christian Academy is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization. Our mission statement: To be an invaluable resource to the residents in the Glades region. Rise and Shine was birthed in 2017 out of the realization that our youth need access to IT Certifications to effectively compete in our digital economy. Rise and Shine is an academic partner with CompTIA, and we are excited to join our community to rise to the challenge of becoming IT Certified.
Here at Rise and Shine, we make the possible happen one step at a time by providing access to IT Curriculum that will lead to IT certifications. We are working with local NGO organizations in the Glades region to ensure that our residents have access to the IT curriculum ” Glades Region IT Scholarship” also known as (G.R.I.T.S). Glades Region IT Scholarships are available to high school sophomores and seniors as residents within the region. We invite the residents of the Glades Region to come out and participate in the exciting journey that will equip them with the necessary skills to start a career in the IT industry.

Our vision is to assist as many youths as possible and young adults in their pursuit to become “IT CERTIFIED” within the Glades region. At Rise and Shine Christian Academy, the student’s academic success is our top priority and we do hope that our Scholarship recipients are eager to fully participate in this program.
Program Activities
Our coverage area includes South Bay, Pahokee, and Belle Glade. Age groups are 16-35. Program Activities: The Glades Region IT Scholarship will consist of 4 cohorts per year.
- The first cohort will be CompTIA ITF+ which will consist of 2 hours, twice a week for the duration of 2 months.
- The second cohort will be CompTIA A+ will consist of 2 hours, twice a week for approximately 3 1/2 months.
- The third cohort will be CompTIA Network+ which will meet 2 hours/ twice per week for approximately 3 1/2 months
- The Fourth cohort will be CompTIA Security+ which will consist of 2 hours, twice a week for the duration of 3 1/2 months. At the end of each cohort,
- Participants will have the opportunity to sit for their IT certification exam.
Our Team
Keren-Esther, Director
Founder, Keren-Esther Hoskins is a resident of the Glades Region and the proud mother of seven beautiful children. She has a rich history of working with people, she is compassionate and empathic to the needs of others which makes her well-equipped to serve her community. She loves to spend time with her children and when she is not with her children she is working at Rise and Shine Christian Academy Inc. Keren-Esther holds a BA in Organizational Leadership from Palm Beach Atlantic University, and she is currently completing her Master's degree in IT Management.
